What is your company module?
The company module is the screen you are sent to when you click on the companies icon within your Teamgate account.
It’s where all the information about the companies that you are working with or plan to work with are stored. Each company listed can be clicked to open up an in-depth company card (or profile) which houses all relevant information for that chosen company.
If you haven’t done so already, we suggest taking a look at our guide on how to set up your lead module as we recommend that you set up the lead module before the company module.
Why should you set up your company module?
More often than not, the amount of information that your business needs to have stored about each company cannot be effectively displayed, along with the relative information of other companies, on one page.
In the example below, you can see columns to the right of each company: Contact details, business type, employee size, ect.
These columns can be swapped out and arranged so that they display only information that is important to you and your business. That is why customizing the company module is important.
Since you are choosing which company info you’d like readily displayed here, you first have to customize the company cards (or profiles) so that they are ready to store the information that your business relies on to close deals and expand accounts.
Customizing Company Cards

Navigate to Settings > Customization

Ideally you would have gone through the menu items under customization when you customized your lead card. If not, take the time to do that now.

If you have, go ahead and click on Custom Fields in the Customization menu

Then select Companies
You should see a page similar to the one above. There will be directions on the right side of your screen to help guide you through this process.
Essentially, you are creating fields that will live on each company’s page where you can house information that is important to have on hand at any given time. There are many different types of fields, so feel free to explore around and experiment until you find the right type of field to house each given piece of information.
Example:
Say you want a field within your company profiles to store the number of employees each given company has. Some Teamgate customers may find pre-determined ranges are fine for simplicity sake, while others may need the exact number in order to correctly go about their business.
Those that just need a range should opt for the “Multi-Select” record type, so when they enter the employee size of a company they just choose from a list of ranges (i.e 1-10, 10-150, 150-500, ect.)
While the other customers may need a specific number, in which they would choose the “Numbers” record type, which allows you to type out a specific/unique number into that field.
Customizing your companies Module
Now that you’ve created custom fields within your company profiles, it’s time to select which of those fields you’d like displayed within the company module.

Navigate to the company module by clicking the building icon on the top of your screen

Within the company module, click the gear icon on the top right to open the settings

You will now see a list of all of the records currently stored in your company profiles. Simply check the box for each piece of data you would like to appear within the company module page

Once that is done, exit the settings pop-up and review your new company module to make sure everything is to your liking
Pro-tip: You can also change the order in which this information is displayed by horizontally dragging and dropping columns into the space that makes the most sense.
